Description
Colossus consists of two semi portal cranes joined by telescopic devices that allow gage changes. This feature provides easy adjustment to multiple plantations while complying with on-road transportation size limitations.
Equipped with high-torque hydrostatic motor reducers, Colossus has a 4x4 transmission for harvesting, and a 4x2 transmission for transportation. The machine is controlled by joysticks and by trunk proximity sensors that help center the machine.
Controlled by cutting-edge hydraulic components (motors designed for rotary motion such as the harvesting system and cylinders designed for lineal motion like the structure leveling system), Colossus integrates the electronic control of the fruit picking, cleaning, and delivering system by means of PLC, with a central device in the cabin.
This novel harvesting system consists of a series of oscillating brushes that move transversely by means of two hydraulic cylinders, which allow the operator to easily follow the canopy.. |
